A cool thing happened recently.
I was asked to be a guest blogger for Compassion International, a super great charity that focuses on childhood poverty. Eddie and I have sponsored a child, James, who lives in Uganda, for almost 4 years.
It is one of the best things we do.
Working on the blog post was a huge challenge for me. Friends of mine know putting things into words doesn't come easily for me, that is why I paint! It is one thing to blog about Art to you guys, but writing words for strangers to read is SCARY. However, because this is a cause I believe in, I accepted the challenge with fear and trembling. I am excited to say they liked my post and it will be published on Monday! I'll re-post it here in a couple of days.
In between writing and editing....and editing...and editing...I was able to finish this painting. It is inspired by the letters that James and I write to each other. I always sign-off with this silly little phrase and doodle tiny moons and stars in the margins of the paper. (I doodle cups of coffee and pictures of Toby on his letters, too, but I'll save that for another post.)
If you could say it in words, there'd be no reason to paint.
